Well, I can't quite believe that I will be in Africa again in less than three weeks. If you saw the state of my garage you would have to wonder what on earth is this girl doing. Honestly I do have a 'to do'list and the mess in the garage really is organised. My new panic for the week is not if I am ready for Africa -I am, at least I know what to expect this time round - one view point - or the second view point ..are you ever ready? It usually depends on confidence at the time of questioning.Anyway my fear at the moment is - will my bike arrive safely in Africa? Hmmm.....British Airways never ever found my trusted Kelly and so I am becoming insanely paranoid! I've thought about sending it DHL but that has problems of its own with customs in Egypt and the task of potentially paying huge duty. I think I am just going to have to bite the bullet and risk it and take it as baggage.Ahhh!!!! ....fingernail biting stuff!
Chris has spent the last week in Denver visiting an old friend originally from the UK and so they have been hitting the slopes and having a great time skiing. I decided with him being away that it would be an ideal time to spruce up our business gym/studio, get it painted, add a dash of colour and with a fresh coat of paint it would be a great start for 2008. It needed to be done and three weeks prior to leaving for Africa seemed like a good idea - NOT!!!!! Crazy girl...why do we do these things to ourselves? Getting to Home Depot for extra pots of paint and colour samples while the rest of California shops and loads credit cards all in the name of Happy Holiday time was utter madness. I couldn't find a parking space anywhere and ended up doing a creative Farmers carry work out with 1 gallon paint pots. My wrist needed the strengthening so it was all good!
Anyway, last minute christmas shopping, festive season lunches with girls, last minute getting gear for Africa and a whole lot of crossing off the 'to do' list makes for a busy time!!! Family and friends you will be receiving the traditional newsy christmas card but it may be a little on the late side this year.
Love ya
Here's a thought.....
Standing in the middle of the road is very dangerous; you get knocked down by the traffic from both sides.

...........ahhh! just as well there are no solid roads in parts of Africa where I'll be traveling.......one just has to choose a side, choose a path and pedal!!
